Darren Marsiee left us in 2005 when leukemia lymphoma took his life. His memory has been honored every year since then during the annual D-Man Festival sponsored by Dive N' Surf. The sixth-annual event, held at Seaside Lagoon in Redondo Beach on Saturday, Sept. 10, drew hundreds of people for live music, prizes and carnival games.
This year John Elway's Manhattan Beach Toyota became the first corporate sponsor of the event. The dealership donated $5,000 towards the Light the Night Foundation in the battle against leukemia lymphoma.
During the festival Manhattan Beach Toyota presented the 2012 Scion iQ, which will debut Oct. 1 starting at $15,995. With a total of 11 airbags, the Scion iQ sets industry records!
Darren was a local avid surfer. The festival's roots stem from the parking lot of Dive N' Surf, Darren's former employer.
